Factors which affects Productivity

Factors which affects  Productivity

Productivity is a measuring process which measures the wealth increment, efficiency increment. It is the ratio between total output to the various input resources used. There are some factors which affects the productivity that are various inputs.

1.Man Power :

Man power is very important factor which affects the productivity. How much labours are working for how much hours, how they are trained etc.

2.Material :

Material is also a main factor which affects productivity. It fully depending upon quality of material, quantity of material, inspection of materials , cost of material and handling & transportation cost etc.

3.Equipments & machinery :

Every product or service uses machines and equipment so number of machines and tools, their capacity, working condition etc are main factors.

4.Time :

Time is also a very important factor in every respect.Productivity increases if time is reduced during production or service.During inspection of raw material and finished product, time is significant.Time is also essential during repair and maintenance.

5.Power/Energy :

Power is also a important factor in productivity measurment. From material handling to product dispatch without power nothing can be happen,so power is required for maintenance, production material handling, movement of raw material, semi-finished, finished products. It can be saved by using renewable energy devices, biogas, photovoltaic cells, solar power,& other non-conventional techniques.

6.Finance :

Main factor affecting productivity is finance.Without capital any company, organization, industry couldn't run.It is required to buy raw material, machine,to pay salaries to their workers etc.

7.Floor area or space :

How easily excess to every machine, equipment, workshop, less movement of man and material is fully depend upon floor area space.Plant layout is necessary to locate different department & shops.

8.Movement of man & material :

Productivity increases as man power movement is within plant or near by near,& also the motion of raw material, finished & semi-finished material.

Technical factors that affect productivity :

(a). Size and capacity of plant

(b). Product design

(c). Timely supply of material and fuel

(d). Automation

(e). Repair and maintenance

(f). Production planning and control

(g). Plant layout and location

(h). Material handling system

(I). Inspection and quality control

(j). Machinary and equipment

(k). Research and development

(l). Inventory management

(m). Reduce waste & their utilization
